A bit late on this one as the exhibition has started. This photo is one of my pieces before it was finished. You'll see the finished pieces in my previous post as they were all at the Group Twelve exhibition at Aberlady earlier this year. Sadly I didn't have time to make any new work.
The exhibition is ' Scottish Surfaces - An Embroiderers' Approach '
Work by members of the Embroiderers' Guild, Scottish Region.
It is on at the Art's Complex, St Margarets House, 151 London Road, Edinburgh EH7 6AE in Gallery 1 & 2. Opening hours Mon- Sat 10-4, Thurs 10 - 7, closed Sunday.
The exhibition has started and runs until Saturday 19th May 2012.
There is a real treat in Gallery 2 which is only open until 17th May. The embroiderered postcards stsched by members of the Embroiderers' Guild representing every nation taking part in the Olympics. I've seen a few as they were going up and they looked fantastic. Also a selection of the embroidered Rainbow Squares that were done by branches several years ago again a sight to see. Last but not least several cases displaying items from the Embroiderers' Guild Collection.
I'll be there stewarding on Tuesday morning between 10am & 1pm if you want to pop along and say 'hi'.
An exhibition not to be missed!
